We only got to spend 1 out of 2
weeks in Hawaii this past spring. Most unfortunate, but I know I’ll go back; it’s photographic heaven. The Big Island was amazing – so full of unexpected treats and beauty everywhere. I especially loved the difference between the Kona and Hilo sides. I fell in love with Kona coffee, the distant mountains at sunrise, and the chameleons who live in Greenwell Farms’ tree. I loved the “koqueet” frogs in Hilo, and the way the forest in Hilo is barely contained. And, of course, there’s always the ocean.
On days like today, when it varies between soaking wet and too cold for our uninsulated houses, I wish I was back on the Big Island, listening to and watching the always-encroaching wildlife.
